Shopping Period....

Commissary, just a fancy word for grocery store! Let me tell you it can be a complete nightmare. It seems there is never a good time to go. With kids in tow it can seem like Mission Impossible. My worst memory of shopping at the commissary was when Mike was on one of his many deployments. Taking 4 kids to the store is a task in itself. But this day I think every retired military MAN was shopping, I got looks galore, and few that shook their heads at me. What was I suppose to do, leave them at home. I wanted to look them in the face and tell them yes you served our country but now my husband is and it is my right to be here as well! Very often while shopping there, I have felt like I was in the middle of cranky convention! I just hope when I get to be their age, I am not so grumpy!

There were those occasional people that were so kind in telling me how beautiful my children were. Some even offered tricks they learned while shopping with their kids some years ago. These were the ones that made the shopping trip worth coming back. Oh and of course the deals too!

I have recently became a coupon crazed shopper. Trying to shop all the sales and for the best deals. In this quest I have found that meat is always the best deal at the commissary. Buying razors there combined with coupons are so cheap you can't pass them up.

Shopping at Publix with their bogo specials, is always a pleasure with coupons! One of the greatest things I was ever told was to always buy 2 newspapers for the coupon inserts. The reason for this is when stores have Bogo specials you can use 2 coupons. So if they have a box of noodles bogo and say they are $1.99 and they have a 50 cent coupon, you can use on for each box, saving you a dollar, and you pay 99 cents for 2 boxes of noodles. (Just an Example)

Sometimes you will find the Ultimate find! LOL The absolutely perfect deal! FREE! While shopping at my local Wal-Mart I saw a clearance rack. Those I can not pass up without at least taking a look! As I was looking over the shelves I noticed cans of Glade Air freshner. They were $2.88 marked down to $1.00. Then the greatest of all great things happened, I noticed a COUPON! Guess what is was..... $1.00 OFF!!!

WOOHOOO! These are things that you only hear about in other professional Shoppers Blogs! My find had me grinning from ear to ear the rest of the day! Another great find that day was ERA washing detergent for clothes. It was ERA free, no dyes, no perfumes, it was a 96 load bottle. They were marked down to $4.50 a bottle. I bought 2 for the price of one! I won't need to buy clothes soap until next year! :) I only wish I would have had a coupon for that too!

Shopping is a high, but saving money takes me HIGHER!
