The past few weeks have been a blur. Between ball games, a concert, and practices it is hard to find time to anything but eat, sleep, and be on the go! Yesterday after sharing some thoughts on my dad, I started looking through some old pictures. Man where does the time go. It is funny how some memories seem like they happened yesterday and others seem like they were in another lifetime.
Looking over the pictures, I found that my Lauren was quite mischievious. She has always been a quiet and sweet girl. Often helping those around her. She is very caring and often thinks of others before herself. For instance her teacher said she needed tape in her class the other day, well Lauren made it known to me and not long after we were on our way to buy some tape. These types of unselfish acts lead me to believe she is following in her grandfathers footsteps as well!
Anyway back to the pictures!
So Mother's Day 2005 we were stationed in Pensacola about 5 years ago, It was Mother's Day and I was downstairs. Something told me to go upstairs and to check on the kids who were being way to quiet. To my surprise the picture above is what I found waiting at the top. It was Lauren all decorated in a purple pleathra of paint! (For those who don't know Purple is my absolute favorite color) Of course my first thought was "oh no what has she painted?" Besides the obvious herself! As I got to the second floor I could see her masterpiece.
All I could do was laugh and of course run to grab the camera. This wasn't the only time Lauren got into mischief.
Stamping the dog and then eating the stamp made for a fun story too! Looking back on these photos made me realize what a special child she is. This being said because I barely remember these days of her getting into so much mischief. I am sure her days of getting to trouble are not over, but for now I will enjoy this sweet child God has given me. Her big hugs, her giggles, and her humming or singing any tune she hears. The way this shy child has broken out of her shell and even surprises me with her actions. It all shows me God is in control and can do anything. Lauren started Kindergarten and would not say a word to the teachers, the teacher would have to bribe her with M&M's to get her to answer questions! I see how much she has grown in the past few years and I am amazed at her love for others.
