Back to school

Well the kids have been back in school for a week now. Last week was a long week for me. Being alone was a little more than depressing. This week seems to be going a lot better though. I went to the school and volunteered in a friends class, she had tons of little jobs to do. Before I knew it, it was time for the kids to go home. IT was nice to fill a day with something to do.

This morning was the first morning that I ventured out to do a little shopping. I had asked one of my daughters teachers if they needed any extra supplies and she gave me a few ideas so I went to go look at our local Target. Can I just say I (Heart) Target. Found some great deals for what the teacher needed, but I also found something else as well.

Peace and Kindness.

No "mama can I buy this?" Or "Mama can I get Starbucks?" It was quite peaceful to shop alone. I did find myself talking to myself, more than a few times. :) I guess when you have had kids in tow for over 12 years that is bound to happen.

The kindness came from other ladies in the store, shoppers and workers alike were so friendly today. Maybe it's because the humidity is not as heavy today. Maybe it is because they had just dropped off their children at school as well. All I know is, it was nice to hear the morning greetings from other adults. I believe there is a saying that goes something like this, "you can never miss something you never had?" Maybe I haven't missed the complete alone time cause I have never had it. Kinda of bittersweet. For I know these times will all to soon be gone forever. As I hope they all grow up and live wonderful lives. I love my kids and the summer seemed to go by super fast, but now I think I will get use to having ME TIME!

My life in a nutshell said...

I love having me time. I am so beyond ready for the boys to go back to school. I am sick of being around them all the time. I am ready to hit the gym again. I miss workingout and going to the classes they offer. I am happy to hear you are doing better. Love ya my friend.
