Shopping with coupons....

First let me say I am no expert when it comes to shopping, but I have learned a few tricks of the trade. My ideas are compiled from several women, who are SERIOUS Coupon Ladies! I am a simple shopper who takes a little bit from all over and makes the best of it. Here is how I start!

First Check out this lady Coupon Queeny she is a very diligent woman who completely deserves her name as the QUEEN of Couponing! She has everything from coupons for food to all things sold on line. Shoes, pictures, photo albums, and sooo much more. You can become a fan of her page on Facebook where she updates frequently her deals. She has often taught classes on how to get the most bang for your buck! Also how to get the greatest deal out of your coupons. One helpful hint when couponing, when the kids misbehave make them clip coupons for a punishment. It keeps them quiet because they have to focus and you get other things done. Clipping coupons can be very time consuming.

Coupon Queeny will give you a lot of tips but I am a basics kind of girl. I would love to go PRO one day but for me just using coupons for the grocery's can be very time consuming. The Organizing, the clipping, the expiration dates. UGH, you are already thinking never mind aren't you? Well before you do hear me out. Because it can be very simple. Because I am speaking broad group, with some friends being out of my state I will try to keep it as simple as possible. We will start with the Sunday newspaper. Always buy 2 newspapers, there maybe times when you want to buy more.

For all my locals check out this site:

http://www.southernsavers.com/

This site will tell you what coupons will be in your local paper, how many booklets, and a run down of what will be in the booklets.

You can also print Coupons on-line. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. Depends on the deal. It also depends on if I can double it up with something else.

*****Just a quick note Commissaries can be very picky about the coupons you use and will often not double, or combine coupons.***** By now I pretty much know my local commissary like the back of my hand. So I can usually spot a deal, and whether I should use my coupons there or at a local market.

One of my most favorite places to shop is Publix. I love their BOGO (buy one get one FREE) specials. I also love their coupon books, that can be found at the front of the store. This past week while out shopping at Publix I was able to get 2 Boxes of Cheezits for $1.00! They were on special BOGO, and I had (2) $1.00 coupons. They were $2.99 a Box. $2.99 is high for 2 boxes, but when you take $1,00 off for each box, because you can use 2 coupons, one for each box, you end up with a price of 99 cents for 2 boxes. Now that is a DEAL! This is the REASON I buy 2 newspapers on Sunday.

One other great thing about Publix is you can combine manufactures coupons with theirs. Not so long ago I had a coupon for Pert Shampoo. $1.00 off, plus the Green Publix Flier had a $1.00 off coupon, you can combine those and together they gave me a discount, of $2.00 and made my shampoo 69 Cents!

Publix has 2 different fliers, a yellow one and a green one. Both have great deals. To check out their weekly fliers I go to this website:

Winn Dixie also has some great deals. Check out their new Make a Meal Deals they had this one for the holiday weekend and of course you can still use coupons. So the deal is always what you make it!

Some people shop by a list and strictly buy what is on their list. I try to stock pile and then shop by sales and coupons. A few weeks ago we strayed away from the typical snacks like potato chips, and those fruit snacks that are mainly made of sugar, to find a new healthier favorite snack. Dole Real Fruit Bites are a simple snack that contains 80 calories. They are Fruit covered with yogurt and Whole Grain oats. The package contains 6 individual packets, and they are $1.99 for the pack. Seemed like a good deal but with a $1.00 off coupon that is even better. I decided to try then and for my kids who most of which aren't fruit eaters they all loved them. It was kinda neat to trade the fruit snacks (gummi sugar) for the real thing. Trading a bad for a good is always a welcome in this home.

Sometimes routines are a good thing but they can became a bad thing too. Getting so comfortable with the same meals week after week. There are so many new meals that we have adapted to by trying new things. Alot of which we wouldn't have tried without my new hobby couponing. So don't automatically think this is something I won't use. You never know some of those healthier snacks may just become welcomed new treats in the house.

I hope this helped, some of you who have asked questions but if you have any other questions feel free to email me! Please, I love doing this and trying to help other do what I do! Save Money!

Love it!! Thanks for the post, I didn't know that Publix will combine their coupons with the manufacturers coupons.
