My husband is the greatest. His dedication to me is something I have always loved about him. Sometimes it seems no matter how hard he tries to do soemthing nice for me, things will inevidebly go wrong. I wanted to share this funny story. For some reason this trip to Disney has been on my mind lately and when I think back to that day it makes me laugh, so maybe you will laugh too!
We decided to take the family on a trip to Disney, it was a just a small trip maybe 3or 4 days. We went to Disney the first day, and had a blast but when we came home my feet hurt horribly. Carrying 220 pounds on my poor little feet all day, had done me in. When we got the kids settled into bed, Mike decided to go the store and look for something to help with the pain. When he came back he had bought a lotion to help with foot pain and decided to give me a foot rub. The lotion worked wonders and I was completely relaxed for a good nights rest.
The nexr morning I woke up and my feet were a little sore, we decided to put some more of the lotion on my feet to try to relax them before starting another day of walking around Disney world. We got to the park and It didn't take long to realize we had made a big mistake! We road a few rides and then decided to go to the Country Bear Jamboree. By the time we got there my feet were on FIRE. Apparently, we hadn't read the directions. The lotion Mike had bought had some form of heat in it, kinda like a Ben-Gay type of ointment. Talk about OUCH!
My dear husband had tried so hard to help his wife who was in pain, and now I am just about in tears because my feet are not only sore but now they feel like someone set them on fire. I took off my socks and shoes and sat on a bench, while my husband ran all over Disney world trying to find me something else to wear. First I tried to wash my feet. To cool them down with water. Then I believe we tried a new pair of socks thinking that the oinment must have been aborbed by the old socks and it would continue to heat my feet, but as soon as I put the new socks and shoes back on, my feet were sounding the alarm again. Mike finally found a pair of Mickey Mouse Croc's. Then that turned out to be a disaster too. I slipped them on and one of the shoes was one size smaller than the other and too small for my foot. We had been sitting there waiting for him for a good 30 minutes, as not every shop sells shoes at Disney World. I told Mike I would take them back, and make the exchange. Of course, when I got to the small stand where Mike had purchased the shoes they didn't have any others in my size. This goose chase was turning crazy. We finally found a store that sold some shoes. I picked out a pair of Croc Flip Flops, with little Mickey Mouse heads on the straps. They were to cute.
After all that mess we were hungry! Lunch Time! We decided to eat right where we were. We decided to eat at, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. The girls and I found a table outside. Chase was inside helping Mike get all the food. Chase brought out a tray and went back in to help Mike. The next thing we know a big bird came and swiped Chase's bun and Bacon off of his burger. Well, MaKenna did not like that at all. She freaked out and started crying, luckily one of the workers saw what had happened and replaced Chase's whole meal. We then picked up the tray and headed inside to try and find a safe place away from the theiving birds.
The rest of the day was filled with rides and giggles. Everyone made jokes about my HOT FEET and MaKenna kept her eyes on the sky, watching for any signs of another big bird. Disney World is such a magical place, even the craziest things can happen there and it still turn out to be an awesome day!
